GAJDA FAMILY GARDENS

2016 and 2018

"Klara Maj did a fabulous  job in helping us design a backyard that we truly enjoyed (before moving to the new house). Our daughters loved  walking on the dry creek and picking the alpine strawberries. In our current house as well as in the previous one she created the space for edible plants conveniently located close to the patio.

Her experience and expertise helped us through every phase of the projects. We are happy to cut water use and create a wildlife habitat."

BUCHANAN FAMILY GARDEN

2017

"Klara turned our front yard into a beautiful garden that our family enjoy. She helped with the design, picking the quality plants from nursery and we planted together just before Christmas! I appreciate how the garden changes throughout the year and how it thrives with such a minimal water usage. Working with Klara has so much more than just ‘redoing our yard.’ It’s been both a pleasure and an adventure!"

CHENG FAMILY GARDEN

2019

I offered my design service for my sons' school fundraiser and Kevin and Cynthia won it. They wanted to create an easy to maintain garden with an edible planter where their children could plant the vegetables.

SANTA CLARA FRONT YARD

2019

With organic design and elevation variety, we created a diverse and wildlife-friendly landscape.  The tapestry of plants, butterflies, and visiting birds brings interest seen from outside and inside. A dry creek visually links both sides of the front yard.

Greg from Modern Gardens Landscaping did an excellent job on implementing the design.

SHARING GARDEN AT WASHINGTON OPEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

from 2017, ongoing

This is anedible garden that was built over 10 years ago. We, parent volunteers, turned it into an outdoor classroom. As a gardening group we maintain this space and bring students to the garden and run lessons here.

LOWER ELEMENTARY AREA AT
WASHINGTON OPEN

2017-18

When the school funds for landscape improvement, I got an opportunity from Anne Kepner to redesign Washington Open Elementary outdoor spaces. With hard work from the school district and community volunteers, the new space was created. Sitting areas and a drought tolerant vegetation create a sensory garden full of native plants. Children love touching lamb's ears, and the pleasant smell of native herbs fills the outdoor learning space.

VARIOUS CONCEPTUAL PLANS

ongoing

Sometimes it takes time from the first onsite meeting until the design is implemented. I'm open to work at your pace.  First, we talk about your needs, challenges and opportunities. We discuss plants you like or you don't like, your budget, etc.

Our first meeting often leads to a conceptual plan.  These plans are made to help us organize priorities and provide a framework to further discuss and refine your vision.  This process is not rushed. Clients have the opportunity to think about their outdoor space and get back when they're ready to.

Visit the gallery to see examples of several conceptual plans.
